
Procession Day Schedule:
The Procession will be held on May 3rd, 2008 in downtown Oakland, Maryland.The Parade will start at the Community Action parking lot located at 104 E Center Street, Oakland, Maryland behind the Ruth Enlow Library. From there the parade will make its way down second street and end at the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market Pavillian.
- 10:00 am - Booths will be open for last minute pre-procession preparations, face painting and costume repair.
- 12:30 pm - Procession participants check in.
- 1:00 pm - The Procession of the Species starts, rain or shine. Anyone and everyone who wants to participate in the Procession will put on their masks, carry their banners, shake their shakers, bang their drums, while we walk, dance or slither in our way through the streets of down town Oakland, Maryland in celebration.

Parking & Restrooms:
- Parking and restrooms are available at the city parking lot by the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market Pavilion.
Safety: Please observe these basic safety rules during the Procession.
- Carry NO GLASS during the parade.
- Stay within your Category (section) during the parade.
- Dance, slither, but please NO RUNNING.
- Help any fellow Processioners that may need assistance.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Some costumes are cumbersome with decreased visibility and control response.
- Keep watch over small species (children).
Recycling & Garbage:
- Please be mindful of not creating waste at the Procession location. This event celebrates the natural environment. Leaving no "footprints" of litter. Thank you for helping to pick up what others may leave behind.
